Anders Lee is hot...red hot.
After scoring just once in the Isles' first 18 games, Lee now has 11 goals since November 23rd (14 games), leading the ENTIRE NHL over that span:
1 Anders Lee 11
2 Sidney Crosby 10
3 David Pastrnak 9
Auston Matthews 9
Max Pacioretty 9
Vladimir Tarasenko 9
7 Leon Draisaitl 8
Artemi Panarin 8
During his hot streak, Lee has scored 11 of the Isles' 40 goals (and added three assists). John Tavares is the only other Islander who has even 4 goals in that span; Josh Bailey is the only one of his teammates with at least 10 points.
Lee, who doesn't yet have an NHL hat trick, has scored two goals three times during the streak.
Lee now holds career totals of 62 goals and 47 assists. He is one of only a handful of players in Islander history with at least 15 more goals than assists. The record differential is held by .... (you thought I was going to say Mike Bossy, didn't you?).... Michael Grabner, who tallied 90 goals and 54 assists (36).
Largest career difference -- goals vs assists (NYI)
1. Grabner 36
2. Mark Parrish 22
3. Bossy 20
4. Randy Wood 16
5. Anders Lee 15
6. Matt Moulson 13
Lee is also closing in on the top-50 goal scorers all-time in Isles history; he is just two behind Jude Drouin, who sits 50th.
