It's been nearly three months since the Isles have lost consecutive games in regulation... that's a long time. How long? Well it's historical.
The Isles have actually played 35 games since they lost to Washington (4-2) and Chicago (5-4) on December 13th and December 15.
That's the longest Isles streak since 1982:
Most consecutive games without a regulation loss:
57 March 22, 1978 -- January 27, 1979 (9 games in one season, 48 the next)
56 November 12, 1977 --March 18, 1978
47 February 12, 1976 -- November 23, 1976 (27 games in one season, 20 in the next)
43 January 2, 1982 -- April 4, 1982 (end of season) *
43 February 3, 1981 --November 15, 1981 (26 games in one season, 17 the next)
35 December 2, 1979 -- February 16, 1980
35 CURRENT -- but guaranteed to be 36 on Thursday.
*The Isles lost the final game of the 1981/82 season and the first game of the 1982/83 season. They didn't lose consecutive games in the 82/83 season until mid-November.
Most consecutive games without a regulation loss (one season)

48 October 12, 1978 -- January 27, 1979 (start of season)
43 January 2, 1982 -- April 4, 1982 (end of season)
35 December 2, 1979 -- February 16, 1980

(FWIW, there were no streaks during the 0 points for an overtime loss era that qualified)
Interim coach Doug Weight will make Islander history on Thursday night:
Most consecutive games without a regulation loss - new coach
23 - DOUG WEIGHT -- will break record on Thursday
23 - Brad Shaw
15 - Peter Laviolette
13- Steve Sterling
7 - Rick Bowness (although the Isles had a 3 game pointless streak, including an OT loss)
