It Happened at the Coliseum

I get new readers to NYISkinny all of the time (And thanks, and welcome!)

For those who weren't with us in the 2014-15 season, I spent nearly nine months (from October 3rd, the anniversary of John Tavares' first goal, to May 24th, the anniversary of the Isles' first Cup) reliving the great moments that happened at a building that stood at 1255 Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale.

On Sunday, the building (with a slightly different name) will re-open its doors for a pre-season Islander game.

It won't be the same, it will never be the same, but it will be good to back in that building if for no other reason than the memories that it brings.

After all, the first 43 years of Islander history Happened at the Coliseum.

(You can relive the entire series by searching the archives on a day-by-day basis)

Oh, any by the way, if  you want to support Make-A-Wish of Metro NY, who benefited from all of those T-Shirts and Hoodies, do it here:
