Up Next
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8th— EDMONTON AT ISLANDERS (NASSAU COLISEUM) 7:00PM
[MSG+ (Islanders pre-game at 6:30pm), 88.7 WRHU-FM, WRCN 103.9FM, ESPN 1050]

Josh Bailey is expected to become the 6th Islander to appear in 800 games as the Isles close out their first homestand of the season as they welcome the Edmonton Oilers to Nassau for the first time in five years.

Bailey will be the first forward taken in the 2008 draft to appear in 800 games (Drew Doughty has played 853 games) and is 6th in both goals and points in his draft class.

Regardless of the building the Isles have had Edmonton's number on home ice, earning points in each of the last 12 Oiler visits (10-0-2); at the Coliseum, the Islanders have won eight straight against Edmonton, dating back to a 4-2 win over the Butch Goring Isles on December 14, 1999.  The Isles have a player on their roster (Noah Dobson) who wasn't born when this game was played.

Overall, the Isles are 13-5-5 in the 21st Century against the Oilers.
