The Skinny on Game 3,700

The Islanders will play the 3,700th regular season game in franchise history on Friday.

With it, the Isles will complete the most successful 100-game set since the Cup Era.

The Isles are 61-30-8 in games 3,601-3,699, raising their all-time record to 1644-1556-499.

The Isles went 63-18-19 in games 401-500 and 68-18-14 in games 701-800; those are the only other times that the Isles won more games in a 100 game set (that ended in a multiple of 100).

The Isles lost 29 games or fewer in each 100 game set from 201-300 to 701-800.  This current set, that ends on Friday, will be the first set since then that the Isles have lost as few as 30 (or 31) games.

(The most games the Isles have ever won in any stretch of 100 games is 70; they went 70-19-11 in three overlapping stretches from late in the 1980-81 season to early in the 1982-83 campaign.)
