The Isles and Rangers will face-off for the first time in 366 days on Monday. It's also the fifth time in the last six seasons that the rivals have met on either January 12th, 13th, or 14th.
13-Jan-15 @ NYR 3 0 W (27 save shutout for Halak)
14-Jan-16 Vs NYR 3 1 W (NYI rally in 3rd to drop NYR to 154-2-6 in last 162 gms when leading after 2 pds)
13-Jan-18 @ NYR 7 2 W (2 goals, +5 for BOTH Barzal & Beau and 4 assists for Eberle)
12-Jan-19 Vs NYR 1 2 L (Zuccarello winning goal as NYR earn split of season series)
13-Jan-20 @ NYR
January 13th is a particularly popular day for the teams to play; it's the 7th time (all since 1997) that the teams have played on this day.
This 2019-20 season marks the first non-lockout season in which the teams didn't meet prior to New Year's; the Monday game ends the longest gap (excluding the full season lockout) in games between the teams. The Isles have faced every other NHL team at least once (and have faced every Eastern Conference team except Carolina at least twice) since last facing the Rangers.
