The Skinny: Rangers 3, Isles 2

"The Skinny"

By Eric Hornick

Game 46
Rangers 3, Isles 2
Chris Kreider scored a power play goal with just 25 seconds to play to break a 2-2 tie as the New York Rangers defeated the Islanders 3-2 before a sellout crowd of 13,917 at Nassau Coliseum.

Anthony Beauvillier's second goal in as many games had tied the score with 7:20 to play in a 4-on-4 situation,  but the Isles could not capitalize with Kreider in the penalty box for goaltender interference right afterwards.

The Rangers have earned three straight regulation wins over the Isles for the first time since 2011; the Isles are 3-4-1 this month, meaning they will need to earn five points in the final three games of the month to maintain their streak of having a winning record every month under Barry Trotz.
