Some time after midnight, the Isles' fourth goal was officially awarded to Captain Anders Lee.
That gave Lee a 2 goal, 8 shot opening night - something no Islander has done since at least the 70s.
Lee is the first Islander with two goals on Opening Night since Brock Nelson (2014 in Carolina) and the first Islander captain with two Opening Night goals since Trevor Linden (1998 vs. Pittsburgh).
The corrected goal is also a power play goal; he had only two power play goals all last season.
With the 40th anniversary of Bossy's 50 in 50 coming next week, I present:
50 in 25
Anders Lee now has 25 two-goal games, most of any active player without a hat trick. Adam Henrique is next on that list with 22.
