By Eric Hornick

Game 6
Isles 2, Vegas 0
Ilya Sorokin did it again. Sorokin made 42 saves for his 2nd consecutive shutout as the Isles blanked the Vegas Golden Knights 2-0 before 17,699 at T-Mobile Arena.

Josh Bailey and Mathew Barzal scored for the Isles as the Isles led for the final 57:44.  However, the story was Sorokin, who became the first goaltender in Islander history to record shutouts on consecutive days.

The Isles went 3-0-1 this week and end the first segment of their franchise-record 13-game road trip with a 3-2-1 record. It is the best record through six games in the Trotz era.

The Skinny
Josh Bailey passed Bob Nystrom for 10th place with his 514th point; he also tied Alexei Yashin for the 3rd-highest October goal total (26) by an Islander in the 2000s…The Isles have scored first in four straight games and in five of their first six games; last season the Isles scored first in 27 of their 56 games… The Isles are 3-2-1 in their first six games, marking their best record through six games under Barry Trotz (3-3-0 each of his first three seasons)…The only other time that the Isles had shutouts on consecutive games was in February 2018, when Jaroslav Halak stopped 50 shots in Brooklyn against the Rangers and Thomas Greiss stopped 45 shots in Carolina.
