Andrew Copp became only the third player in Ranger history with a first period hat trick and Artemi Panarin added four assists as the Rangers earned a split of the season series with a 6-3 win over the Islanders before a sellout crowd of 17,255 at UBS Arena.
Brock Nelson scored twice, and Josh Bailey added a goal for the Isles but they could not get closer than two goals in the final forty minutes.
The Isles are 1-3-1 in their last five games.

The Skinny

Battling the Big Boys
The Isles have faced three consecutive opponents who already had at least 100 points – it's only the third time that has ever happened; the Isles hosted opponents who already had at least 100 points in consecutive games for the first time in club history. If Washington reaches 100 points before facing the Isles on April 28th the Isles will play their final five games against opponents with at least 100 points (which would be only the second time in NHL history that has happened – Montreal did this in 1971-72).

Since February 1st, he has been even better, going 7-1-2 in ten home starts (1.93 GAA, .942 save percentage) .
Great in the Nets
• Ilya Sorokin is 8-4-1 in his last thirteen games with a 2.06 GAA and a .941 save percentage.

PK is More Than Okay
The Isles allowed a goal on their only time short; they have still killed 35 of 39 (89.7%) over their last thirteen games and 74 of 84 in the last 27 games (88.1%). At home they are even better, having killed 41 of 46 (89.1%) since the beginning of February.
