Isles 6, Anaheim 3

Brock Nelson scored twice, and Kyle Palmieri added a career-high four points as the Isles rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits for a 6-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks before a crowd of 13,552 at Honda Center.  Pierre Engvall was credited with the game winning goal as he scored for the third straight game. 

The Isles improve to 35-27-8 as they head to San Jose on Saturday for their final meeting with a Western Conference foe. The Isles remain the second Wild Card; they are tied in points behind Pittsburgh, but the Penguins have played two fewer games.  The Isles are five points ahead of Florida, who have three games in hand on the Isles.

The Skinny    

The Isles are 12-5-3 in their last 20 games and 5-2-2 in their last nine road games; they match a season-high by going eight games over NHL-.500…. The Isles have outscored the opposition 20-6 over the last 13 third periods … The Isles' third period improves to +12; the Isles were +16 in the third period through 23 games, -17 over the next 34 games but are +14 over the last thirteen games …It was the first time in his career that Kyle Palmieri had recorded four points, the first time he had three assists and only the second time he went +4…It was the Isles'' 17th comeback win of the season, tied-7th in the NHL and their eighth win of the season when trailing after one period (5th in NHL)….Brock Nelson hit thirty goals for the 2nd straight season, and tied Bobby Nystrom for 10th place in club history with 235 goals.

Bridgeport is now 27-24-7-1 on the season, following a 7-5 defeat to Hartford; they currently hold the last playoff spot in their division by one point over Hartford. 

Andy Andreoff leads the team (and is tied-4th in the AHL) with 26 goals, while Chris Terry continues to lead in assists (39) and points (57); his 57 points are 8th in the AHL with his 39 assists are 6th. William Dufour has 20 goals, which is tied-3th among AHL rookies while All-Star Ruslan Iskhakov is 3rd among AHL rookies with 31 assists and leads all rookies with 46 points. 

Bridgeport hosts Syracuse on Friday and Hartford on Saturday.
