Mathew Baral and Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored second period goals to erase a 2-1 deficit as the Islanders earned a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers before a crowd of 19,201 at Amerant Arena. 

Semyon Varlamov made 27 saves to improve to 3-0-1 in his last four starts (2.47 GAA, .915). The Isles are 12-11-4 under Patrick Roy and 31-26-15 overall as they close within four points of Washington in the Wild Card race and within five points of Philadelphia for third place in the Metropolitan.

The Isles head to Tampa Bay to face the Lightning on Saturday before a showdown with the Flyers on Monday in Philadelphia.
