After scoring thirteen goals in San Jose and Anaheim, the Isles ran into David Rittich in Los Angeles. Rittich made 26 saves and the Los Angeles Kings earned a 3-0 win over the Isles before a crowd of 17,061 at crypto.com Arena.

Adrian Kempe scored 7:14 into the 2nd period to break a scoreless tie and Philip Danault doubled the advantage in the second period. Trevor Moore added an empty net goal as Los Angeles ended the Islanders' six-game winning streak and four-game road winning streak.

The Isles are 10-6-3 under Patrick Roy and 29-21-14 overall as they fall behind Detroit based on the regulation win tie-breaker and out of a playoff spot; they remain two points behind Philadelphia for third place in the Metro Division and two points of Tampa Bay for the top Wild Card spot. 

The Isles, who have never won in Anaheim, San Jose, and Los Angeles on the same trip,  conclude the four-game road trip on Thursday in Buffalo.
